Nothing sweetens up your day like a couple of slices of special toast! One of my mom’s go-to breakfast recipes for me growing up. Made with four simple ingredients and is a kid-approved favorite.
Who doesn’t like a little sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar? This simple four ingredient toast is a great breakfast or afternoon snack idea for the kiddos!
My mom used to make this for me in the mornings before school when I was a kid. It was my favorite breakfast! We called it Special Toast in my house but really it’s just toasted bread, a smear of butter, and a dusting of cinnamon and sugar.

What Ingredients are Needed for Special Toast?
Bread: A nice slice or two of sourdough is great for this recipe. Try to opt for a plain white bread or sourdough. For this recipe, I am using sourdough from my Wildgrain box subscription. If you don’t know what Wildgrain is, check out my review post here and get $30 off your first box with my code WALNUT30.
Butter: A little goes a long way. Just a pat or two per slice.
Cinnamon: A light dusting of cinnamon goes on top of the butter.
Sugar: And then a light dusting of whtie granulated sugar goes on top of the cinnamon.
