This Skinny Spicy margarita is made with jalapeno pepper puree, ginger sparkling water, silver tequila, and lime juice. It’s refreshing with a bit of a kick for all the spicy drink lovers out there.

I love a good cocktail that not only tastes delicious but is somewhat good for you as well. I say somewhat because no alcohol is actually good for your body, but the ingredients we mix with it can always be improved upon! A lot of margaritas are often made with a cheap store-bought margarita mix that’s made with artificial coloring and a TON of sugar. I don’t know about you but I literally feel like my teeth are rotting after I drink a margarita mixed drink.

That’s why I’ve created this deliciously refreshing, sugar-free, skinny spicy margarita. No added sugars whatsoever!

    What Makes a Margarita Skinny?

A skinny margarita is simply a lighter version of a classic margarita. Skinny margaritas swap the calorie-dense and sugar-loaded margarita mix for lighter options of just lime juice or a splash of orange juice. Simply put, skinny margaritas usually avoid simple syrup, margarita mix, and sugar.

Ingredients Needed for Skinny Spicy Margaritas

Silver Tequila: Silver tequila is always the better option for margaritas over gold tequila. Silver tequila simply pairs better with the other flavors of the margarita as it has a purer taste than gold tequila.

Jalapeno Peppers: If you like things a little spicy, we’re going to puree up a jalapeno pepper to include in this marg. Not a fan of spice? You can totally leave this out!

Ginger Sparkling Water: This is my skinny margarita secret weapon! I can always find ginger sparkling water WholeFoods and I know Sparkling Ice brand has a good ginger lime option that would be perfect for this recipe! When choosing a sparkling water make sure it’s zero calories and does not contain any added sugars to maintain the skinny aspect of this marg!

Lime Juice: Staying true to the flavors of a margarita we absolutely have to add a splash or two of lime juice!
