Did you let your bananas go brown again? If you have over ripe bananas you absolutely have to make this savory tahini banana bread! It’s gluten-free, refined sugar-free and incredibly delicious.
Who doesn’t love banana bread? Making it is super simple and eating it is very enjoyable. There isn’t any banana bread I don’t like. Who’s with me?
This banana bread recipe uses ingredients such as almond flour, coconut flour, tahini, and maple syrup to replace the overly processed white flours, sugars and oils. By using maple syrup, this recipe becomes refined sugar free! Almond and coconut flours make this banana bread gluten-free. And with the addition of tahini and a sesame seed topping, we dip into the savory category! Don’t worry though, the bananas and maple syrup still provide all the sweetness you crave in a banana bread.
So, what is tahini? Tahini is a combination of sesame seeds and oil. The sesames are ground and blended with the oil to create a creamy seed butter! Tahini’s flavor profile is very nutty and earthy.
What can I make with tahini? You might think of hummus when I say tahini. And you’d be right. Tahini is one of the main ingredients in hummus, but don’t fret - this banana bread recipe does not taste like hummus! The tahini helps to balance out the flavors in this recipe and ultimately create the most ooey gooey and delectable slice of banana bread ever!
If you find yourself craving some banana bread, I’ve got the perfect recipe for you!
