Ingredients Needed for these Oreo Crumble Cookies

Wet Ingredients: Unsalted butter, light brown sugar, granulated white sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.

Dry Ingredients: All-purpose flour (or sub for certified gluten-free flour if needed), baking soda, dark black cocoa powder, and salt. Dark black cocoa powder has a similar taste to oreos so adding a few tablespoons to the batter really enhances the oreo flavor!

Oreo Cookies: Regular-sized oreo cookies or if you’re really having fun choose any variation of the cookie like double-stuffed, peanut butter, mint, the options are endless!

Chocolate Chips: Semi-sweet chocolate chips are great in this recipe but can also be swapped for dark or white chocolate chips.

How to Make Oreo Crumble Cookies

Prep: Preheat the oven to 350° F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Make the Dough: Beat together the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and creamy, approx. 1 minute. In a different bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking soda, and dark cocoa powder. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Beat together on low speed until well combined, dough will be thick. Using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula, stir in the chocolate chips.

Bake the Cookies: Scoop 1 tablespoons of dough into your hands and roll into a ball. Place dough balls on the baking tray 2 inches apart. Bake cookies for 12-15 minutes, remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool for ~5-8 minutes on the tray before transferring to a wire cooling rack.

Total time: 2 hr, 30 min

    Cuisine: American |

    Serves: 36

    Ingredients:

    • 1 cup, unsalted butter, room temperature
    • ¾ cup, light brown sugar
    • 1 cup, granulated white sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 tbsp, vanilla extract
    • ½ tsp, salt
    • 1 tsp, baking soda
    • 2 cups, all purpose flour
    • 1 tbsp, dark black cocoa powder
    • 15 oreo cookies, crumbled
    • 1 cup, dark chocolate chips

    Directions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
    2. In a stand mixer or large bowl and electric hand mixer, beat together the butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
    3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking soda, and dark cocoa powder.
    4. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Beat together on low speed until well combined, dough will be thick.
    5. Using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula, stir in the chocolate chips and crumbled oreos.
    6. Place cookie dough in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours or overnight.
    7. Remove chilled dough from the fridge and scoop 1 tablespoons of dough into your hands and roll into a ball. Place dough balls on the baking tray 2 inches apart - they will spread!
    8. Bake cookies for 12-15 minutes, remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool for ~5-8 minutes on the tray before transferring to a wire cooling rack.
    Notes:
    1. Don’t skip the chilling step as the cookies will spread into a blob without chilling - there’s a lot of butter in these cookies
    2. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week.
    3. Freeze baked cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
    4. To freeze the cookie dough, wrap in plastic wrap before placing it in an airtight container. Can also freeze for up to 3 months.
    5. To make gluten-free, sub all purpose flour for certified gluten-free flour 1:1.
