    A simple weeknight pizza using a combo of fresh and pre-made ingredients for a convenient and delicious dinner for two!

    Two pieces of pre-made naan flatbreads, topped with fresh homemade pesto, and roasted red peppers for a gourmet flatbread you can make at home in 30 minutes or less!

    What is Naan Bread?

    Naan is a unique flatbed dawning from Indian cuisine that is chewier in texture. Typically it is more nutrient dense than regular pita or white breads as it contains more fiber and protein. I find naan bread to be very sturdy and the perfect vessel to load up with pizza toppings.

    What Ingredients are Needed for Naan Pesto Pizzas?

    Naan: Buying these pre-made from the grocery store saves a ton of time and they are just as delicious as homemade naan. I pick mine up from Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods. 

    For the Homemade Pesto: Fresh basil leaves, parmesan cheese, walnuts, olive oil, and a dash of salt and pepper blended together for a quick and easy fresh pesto sauce! Not feeling the homemade pesto tonight? Opt for a fresh store-bought pesto, usually found in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.

    Roasted Red Peppers & Mozzarella Cheese: Top the flatbreads with some juicy roasted red peppers and some mini mozzarella balls sliced in half.

    How to Make Naan Pesto Pizzas

    This recipe couldn’t be any easier! 

    Toast the naan.

    Make the pesto.

    Top the naan with the pizza ingredients.

    Bake in the oven until the cheese melts!

    Naan Pesto Pizzas

    • 2 naan flatbreads
    • 1 cup, fresh basil leaves, packed
    • ¼ cup, walnuts, chopped 
    • ¼ cup, extra virgin olive oil
    • ¼ cup, parmesan cheese, freshly grated
    • Salt and pepper, to taste 
    • ⅓ cup, roasted red peppers, sliced thin
    • 8-10 mini mozzarella balls, sliced in half


    1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.
    2. In a food processor or blender, combine all the ingredients for the pesto: basil leaves, walnuts, olive oil, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Pulse until all ingredients are blended together into a sauce consistency.
    3. Toast the naan in the oven for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
    4. When naan is toasted, spread each with an even layer pesto, top with roasted red peppers, and mozzarella balls.
    5. Heat naan pizzas in the oven for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
    6. Serve and enjoy!
    1. Can easily double this recipe by using more naan flatbreads!
    2. Can swap the walnuts for pine nuts.
    3. Store any leftover pesto in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
