These layered oreo brownies are full of chocolate, layered with oreo cookies, and then topped with more decadent brownie batter for the perfect chocolatey combination. Make this for your next get together, they’re the perfect party snack!
When has an oreo dessert ever flopped? The answer is never. You truly can’t go wrong with bringing an oreo recipe to a party, they’re 100% a crowd pleaser. My oreo crumble cookies were gobbled up within minutes at my last party and same with these layered oreo brownies!

What Ingredients Do You Need For Layered Oreo Brownies?
Oreo Cookies: This recipe calls for good ‘ole regular oreos. Double stuffed, oreo thins, peanut butter oreos, etc. are all great swaps.
Wet Ingredients: Unsalted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and chocolate chips (to be melted).
Dry Ingredients: All purpose flour (but feel free to swap 1:1 for gluten-free flour if needed), unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt. No baking powder or soda needed - these are going to be super fudgy and less cake-like.
Chocolate Chips: Add some more chocolate chips that we won’t melt but mix into the batter towards the end.
Any Swaps or Variations?
You can’t go wrong with using any flavor or oreo you prefer. Peanut butter or mint oreos would be amazing in this recipe. Depending on when you make these, mint oreos could be a fun swap for a St. Patrick’s Day themed dessert!

How to Make Layered Oreo Brownies
Step One: Preheat the oven to 350° F and line a 8x8 square pan with parchment paper.
Step Two: Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips and ½ cup of butter in the microwave in 15 second increments until fully melted, stirring in between each interval. Should take approximately 1 minute. Remove from the microwave and stir together until smooth.
Step Three: In a large bowl, whisk together ½ cup white sugar, 2 eggs, and the melted chocolate and butter mixture. Stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla.
Step Four: Add ¾ cup of flour, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder, and ¼ teaspoon of salt and stir until just combined. Stir in the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips.
Step Five: Spread half the batter evenly across the bottom of the pan. Add one flat layer of oreo cookies (~15-16 cookies) on top of the batter and then add the remaining batter on top of the oreos.
Step Six: With your hands, crumble the remaining oreos (~4-5 cookies) over the top of the batter.
Step Seven: Bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven and let brownies cool completely before removing from the pan and cutting into evenly sized squares.
