Ground turkey seasoned with taco spices, shredded cheese, chips, and salsa all folded up in a lavash wrap is the perfect healthier swap for Taco Bell’s crunchwrap supreme.
What’s in a Taco Bell Crunchwrap vs. This Healthier Version?
Taco Bell’s classic crunchwrap supreme is loaded with bad-for-you ingredients like fatty taco meat, a nacho cheese sauce (what’s even in that?), and sour cream. My healthier taco crunchwrap supreme uses lighter ingredients to give you a healthier option for when you’re craving taco bell but don’t want to consume their ingredients. Swapping a Joseph’s Lavash wrap for the giant burrito shell, lean ground turkey instead of extra fatty and greasy ground beef, and shredded cheese instead of globs of queso lightens up this recipe but still satisfies those crunchwrap desires.
How Do You Make a Crunchwrap?
Assembling is a big part of this recipe. To successfully make a crunchwrap that doesn’t crumble into pieces. Follow these assembly steps:
- Lay the lavash wrap on a clean work surface
- Layer with cooked ground turkey taco meat and a sprinkle of shredded cheese
- Add romaine lettuce, a layer of salsa, more shredded cheese, and crumbled chips
- Fold up the edges of the wrap into the center
- Place the wrap, edges side down, in an oiled skillet
- Cook on both sides until nice and crispy

Ingredients Needed for this Healthier Taco Crunchwrap Supreme!
Lavash Wraps: Joseph’s lavash wraps come in a long rectangular size that works perfectly for this recipe!
Ground Turkey: The leaner the better, opt for 99% or 93% lean for the least fatty options, this will help the wrap from getty soggy from excess grease and aids in achieving the crunch factor!
Taco Seasoning: We won’t need the whole packet of taco seasoning, just about 1/3 of it will do.
Shredded Cheese: Any Mexican blend of shredded cheese will work. You can also shred your own cheese, a sharp cheddar or Monterey Jack would be so tasty!
Romaine Lettuce: Just a few strips of this crunchy lettuce adds to the crunch factor and gives a little color aka nutrients to this dish.
Salsa: Gives these crunchwraps a little sauciness since we’re removing the queso and sour cream from the original recipe.
Tortilla Chips: You only need a few crumbled on top. Blue corn, yellow corn, it does not matter what kind of tortilla chips you use - just something to give you the crunch factor! I’m using the cassava flour tortilla chips from Trader Joe’s. Doritos would be a fun option too!

How to Make this Healthier Taco Crunchwrap Supreme!
Cook the Taco Meat. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned. Drain of any excess water and add taco seasoning. Stir to coat the meat.
Assemble the Crunchwrap. Lay the lavash wrap on a clean flat surface. In the center of the wrap layer the taco meat, cheese, lettuce, salsa, crumbled chips, and more cheese.
Fold the Crunchwrap. Fold the long bottom edge to the center and then bring each edge to the center of the wrap to fold it together into a hexagon shape. Place folded edges down in the same skillet used to cook the taco meat. Add another tbsp of oil to the pan and make sure it’s still on medium-high heat.
Cook the Crunchwrap. Get it nice and crispy on each side. Make sure it’s crispy on the folded side before flipping to brown on the other side. This will ensure the crunchwrap stays together. Cut in half and enjoy immediately with a side of chips and salsa if you so please.
