    You only need two ingredients for the easiest afternoon snack. These cream cheese cracker sandwiches are reminiscent of the classic Ritz Bitz but healthier and fresher tasting!


    Who wants a quick and easy snack idea? This is the perfect snack to make for the kiddos after school, or as an afternoon snack in between meals. It’s easy, only requires two ingredients, and it tastes almost like a Ritz Bitz cracker sandwich… but better!

    What Ingredients are Needed for Cream Cheese Cracker Sandwiches?

    Crackers: Any round and preferable plain flavored crackers will do. I’ve made these with the naan crackers from Trader Joe’s, Ritz crackers (although they tend to be a bit too flaky and not sturdy), and these whole wheat crackers from Trader Joe’s which is what I used for this snack tip recipe!

    Cream Cheese: Plain cream cheese is great and will do the trick. But if you’re looking to elevate this snack to the next level, try using my homemade veggie cream cheese recipe. 

    So, What Crackers Should I Use?

    • I love using plain crackers and pairing them with my homemade veggie cream cheese.
    • If you’re going to opt for a plain cream cheese you can get wild with your cracker choice like everything bagel seasoned crackers or the garlic naan crackers from Trader Joe’s. Flavored cracker + plain cream cheese = winner!
    • Flavored cream cheese + plain cracker = winner!
    • If you’re gluten free, you can use any type of rice cracker.

    How to Make Cream Cheese Cracker Sandwiches

    Place the crackers on a flat surface.

    With a butter knife, spread about 1 tsp of cream cheese on to one cracker. Repeat with half of the crackers.

    Take the remaining crackers and sandwich them on top of the cream cheese covered crackers.

    Press together lightly so they hold together.

    Enjoy your healthy afternoon snack!

    • 14 plain round crackers
    • 1.5 oz, cream cheese

    Directions:

    1. Place the crackers on a flat surface.
    2. With a butter knife, spread about ½ tbsp of cream cheese on to one cracker. Repeat with 12 of the crackers.
    3. Take the remaining crackers and sandwich them on top of the cream cheese covered crackers. Press together lightly so they hold together.
    4. Enjoy!
    Notes:
    1. To make gluten-free use rice crackers!
