Creamy and soft cheese with mini dark chocolate chips, this dip has all of the wonderful flavors of a classic Italian cannoli but made at home! Make this sweet treat for your next gathering - it’s the perfect party snack!

Looking for a sweet dessert that’s unique and a crowd pleaser? Look no further than this cannoli dip with homemade cinnamon and sugar pita chips. That’s right, I said cannoli DIP. We’re taking the filling out of this classic Italian treat and pairing it with some delicious homemade pita chips. It’s truly delizioso!

What Cheese is Used in Cannoli Filling?

A typical cannoli filling is a combination of ricotta cheese and mascarpone cheese. Combine those two cheeses with powdered sugar and vanilla and you have a delectable cannoli filling. This recipe swaps cream cheese for mascarpone for a more convenient option (cream cheese is cheaper and easier to find!) Cream cheese and ricotta is a great combination for a cannoli filling recipe.

What are Pita Chips Made of?

Simply put, pita chips are made from pita bread that’s been sliced in half, cut into pieces, and then baked in the oven until crispy. This recipe adds a little melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar to give these pita chips a ton of extra flavor that really complements the cannoli dip!

    Let’s make some cannoli dip!

ingredients needed for cannoli dip and pita chips

Ingredients Needed for Cannoli Dip with Homemade Cinnamon & Sugar Pita Chips

For the Cannoli Dip: We will combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and mini dark chocolate chip.

For the Cinnamon & Sugar Pita Chips: We are using store bought pita breads, melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar.

    Cannoli Mix-In Swaps

If you don’t want to use or don’t have mini dark chocolate chips, semi-sweet morsels will also be great in the dip. You could also try pistachio pieces, walnut pieces, or even sprinkles! Feel free to get creative with the mix-in.
